When deciding on furniture for a kid, remember to keep it comfortable and simple. You don’t want to buy a cot or a chair that looks ‘cute’, but is not comfortable for your kid. This would ruin the very purpose of buying furniture, wouldn’t it? Kids usually like bunk beds and investing in one wouldn’t be a bad idea at all. A bunk bed or a bed with a desk underneath is your safest bet. You can also have kid-like bookshelves, a ‘cute’ table and chair and maybe even a large toy bin. The toy bin will prevent your kid from leaving his/her toys all over the floor. Place a small and comfortable beanbag in the corner of your kid’s room. It can be assembled into a crib with a changing table and storage drawers for linens and baby care accessories; or a playpen; or a desk with a chalkboard, a bigger bed and all the drawers the baby will need as it grows older.
